By electron microscopy, the majority of acinar cells showed numerous irregularly arranged channels of dilated rough endoplasmic reticulum (RER) (Fig. 4 A).
Numerous, large vacuoles containing identifiable cytoplasmic elements, amorphous, membranous or granular masses were present within the cytoplasm (Fig. 4 B).
