Six months after the injury, only slight residual edema within the
vastus intermedius muscle could be seen in the STIR sequence
(Fig. 5 ).
Compared to the contralateral side, the vastus intermedius muscle
on the left was slightly atrophic (Fig. 5 a, b). .
