Because of differences in forest size, we placed two seed stations in each 1-ha fragment, six in each 10-ha fragment, and six to eight in the control sites (the continuous forest of Dimona had six stations because there were fewer trails to assess the forest in that site, and that of Porto Alegre had one seed station removed from the analysis due to problems with data collection in one of the months; Table 1).

Therefore, there was a total of 135 seed station × month for the analyses (Table 1).
