About Biology Image Library
The Biology Image Library is an online database of scientific images across 7 areas of life sciences research: Developmental Biology, Histology & Pathology, Microbiology & Parasitology, Molecular & Cellular Biology, Neuroscience, Immunology and Plant Biology.
Images come from independent submissions or from articles published by the Open Access publisher BioMed Central. All independently submitted images are peer reviewed by a Board of Editors to ensure that the images are of a good quality and that the description that accompanies each image is scientifically accurate.
Image contributors retain the rights to their images as the Library publishes those images on a non-exclusive basis.
